So close...

I'm almost there on the paisley knit shawl. I have approximately 16 rows to go...so I should hopefully finish in the next few weeks (though moving will most certainly slow that down a bit!).

Progress pictures (I'm even further now):

Goodies from Michigan

I went to see Kie and Eric in Lansing recently, and visited my favorite little yarn shop in the universe, Woven Art. Maybe I should have strongly considered, MSU, just to be close to this shop. It has an amazing selection of yarn, all of it absolutely gorgeous, and more importantly, a great fiber community. The owner and employees and instructors and people who just hang out there are all incredible resources for spinning, dyeing, weaving, knitting, crocheting, etc. It's such a treat to go there, and I couldn't help but pick up this:

It's called Kona Super Wash. It's a very soft wool, and was hand-painted by the yarn shop's owner, Nancy. She dyes much of the really fantastic yarns in her shop and they're just gorgeous.

She says that when she was doing this yarn she was inspired by a recent trip to the Carribbean, and some beautiful gemstones that she saw there that are indigenous to the area. I'm pretty sure it's Larimar from the Dominican Republic.

In the two hanks, I have 400 grams...it's finally Clapotis time!

Getting there...

The paisley print shawl is getting there.  Two more rows in the transition, 20 in the border, six after the border, then tricot edging.  There are over 500 stitches on the needle at this point.  Scary!

Paisley wrap update

I really ought to get some pictures of this thing in progress. I'm now on round 7/8 of repeat 10/13. This is getting exciting! Maybe I'll be done with it by mid-June, so I can get to knitting for the Rauscher-to-be. :)

Mad Hatter

Knitting hats is sort of compelling. They're fast. They're satisfying. And they look great even in bulky yarn on 10.5 needles.
