That's a nice stretch...

Blocking, originally uploaded by kllamb.

I finally blocked the Paisley wrap shawl tonight. Stretched all out on my nice, clean, everything's unpacked carpet, no less! I love this thing. It's drying now, and I can't wait for it to cool down enough to wear it! Just a few ends left to weave in (I wanted to leave that for after blocking) and this baby is done. I figured out why I bought this yarn (Rowan Wool and Cotton....not Wool Cotton, Wool and Cotton - it was discontinued long before I bought my ten balls in 2005) - it was on serious, serious sale. It wound up being a great deal, and I love the color and finished object. Being driven to use up guilt yarn can be a good thing, I suppose!

I showed mum your knitting blog and she loves it. Not a whole lot of knitting for me these days, but a TON of spinning--I'm trying really hard to make worsted weight yarn. It's much harder than it looks. Mom's starting to get into weaving (the craft center sold surplus stuff, so I got her a 4-harness floor loom and me a spinning wheel), so I've also been working on getting it all warped. At least I'm staying in the relm of fiber arts.
Sorry I missed you in Raleigh! We'll have to get together sometime when I'm back and before I graduate. :)
